Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer with a passion for technology and innovation

EC Konsult AB is a flexible, creative, and technology-driven consulting company that offers qualified solutions and consulting services in several market areas, including medical, manufacturing industry, and process industry. Our consultants work within software development, embedded systems, electronics, and mechanical design.

The company is headquartered in Blekinge and primarily operates in southern Sweden. We have offices in Karlshamn and Lund, generate approximately 15 million SEK in revenue, and currently employ around 15 consultants.

We are now looking to grow and seek more engaged consultants who want to work with advanced mechanical design in technically exciting projects.

About the role

We are looking for you who are a mechanical engineer/mechanical designer with a burning interest in technology and extensive experience in CAD-based design. As a consultant at EC Konsult, you will work independently or in close collaboration with clients and colleagues to develop innovative and robust solutions.

You will primarily work on:

• Developing proposals and concept solutions
• Creating 3D models, assemblies, and design documentation
• Developing designs that meet customer requirements regarding, for example,
• UHV (ultrahigh vacuum), stability, compatibility, and precision
• Establishing BOM lists and manufacturing drawings
• Assisting with assembly and installation (if needed, not always physically)

In our assignments, we also use modern working methods where AI-based tools may be involved, for example, for optimizing designs, simulations, data analysis, and more efficient workflows. You do not need to be an AI expert, but we appreciate curiosity and a willingness to work with new technology.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years of experience in mechanical design and industrial CAD
• Documented experience in:
• Development of concepts, models, assemblies, and drawings
• Product Data Management systems (PDM/PLM)
• FEM calculations
• UHV design
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

Desirable skills

• Experience with conventional and additive manufacturing methods
• Knowledge in cryogenic and high-temperature systems
• Experience in precision mechanics/fine mechanics
• Interest or experience in AI-supported design, simulation, or automation

Tools and environment

We primarily work in:

• SolidWorks
• Ansys
• MS Office 365

About the consultant role

As a consultant, assignments are performed either at the client’s site or at our offices in Karlshamn or Lund.

Since many projects are subject to confidentiality and special equipment, a large part of the work takes place on-site at the client, which may involve commuting to other locations in southern Sweden.

We do not conduct our own product development – all assignments are performed at our clients. The projects are varied, technically challenging, and developing for the individual.
